Do you feel like you're sitting on the sidelines as others receive bigger titles, more money, and increased visibility? Vast numbers of people forget the fact that God is the Master Promoter. David wrote, "For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another." (Psalm 75:6-7) 

1. Read Chapter 2 of the book of Daniel.
  a) What did King Nebuchadnezzar ask the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans to do? (vs. 2)
  b) How did Daniel deal with Nebuchadnezzar’s unreasonable demand? (vs. 14-23)
  c) After Daniel's prayer was answered, what did he do? (vs. 23)
  d) What did King Nebuchadnezzar do after Daniel interpreted the dream? (vs. 48-49)

2. Several bad things happened to Joseph in the early years of his life. But he never turned against the Lord, and as he proved himself faithful, the Lord promoted him to higher positions.
  a) What happened to Joseph as a very young man? (Genesis 37:23-28)
  b) How did Joseph end up in prison? (Genesis 39:1-20)
  c) How was Joseph promoted while still in prison? (Genesis 39:21-23)
  d) After Joseph correctly interpreted Pharaoh's dream, what happened next? (Genesis 41:39-41)

3. In Genesis 12, God told Abraham to leave his family and country and go to a land He would show him. In return for his obedience, how did the Lord promise to promote Abraham and his family? (Genesis 12:1-3)

4. Identify the person(s) in the Bible whom God promoted from lowly positions to leadership positions, and name the job they held before they were promoted.

5. Read Acts 5:1-11.
